Specialized Emergency Response & Trauma Integration

Rapid stabilization to mitigate community trauma and support resilience

About the Trauma & Crisis Response Team (TCRT)

Rapid Stabilization. Clinical Precision. Community Resilience.

In the aftermath of a crisis or disaster, the first 72 hours are critical. The Trauma & Crisis Response Team (TCRT) is a specialized, clinical-grade intervention unit dedicated to rapid trauma stabilization. Unlike traditional long-term counselling, our mandate is to provide immediate, neuro-sequential support that mitigates the physiological shock of trauma and reduces acute nervous system arousal.

Staffed by a province-wide roster of Registered Psychotherapists and Clinical Trauma Specialists, the TCRT serves as a force multiplier for municipal emergency management. We work seamlessly within existing emergency structures—including local Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs) and the Ontario Corps—to stabilize residents on-site, reduce system strain on frontline services, and restore the cognitive capacity individuals need to navigate the recovery process.

By integrating evidence-based trauma processing with frontline emergency response, we ensure that communities do not just survive a disaster, but are actively empowered to rebuild.

Because the first 72 hours matter most.

Treating the Shock to Restore Capacity

ATTCH Niagara’s Trauma and Crisis Response Team (TCRT) differs from a traditional long-term counselling service; we are a rapid-response clinical resource. By intervening during the critical Response Phase, we keep residents’ nervous systems online. This restores the capacity for logical thought, enabling individuals to make critical decisions, navigate insurance, and rebuild faster.

Our Response Capabilities

  • Rapid Neuro-Stabilization: Bottom-up, sensory-based interventions designed to depotentiate shock and hyper-arousal.
  • The No-Retelling Advantage: Our model processes trauma without requiring victims to recount distressing memories, removing a significant barrier to immediate support.
  • Safe & Effective: Because our model targets trauma the way it is stored in the brain and body tapping into the central details of trauma using a step-by-step scripted protocol to promote regulation in the body and threat centres of the brain first this helps to depotentiate the trauma and prevent residual effects.
  • Scalability: A mobile, deployment-ready team of trained therapists available for virtual or on-site support in disaster zones, schools, or community centers.

The Emergency Management Bottom Line

Operational Efficiency: By stabilizing residents on-site, we reduce the burden on Police, EMS, and ER teams who are often called to manage dysregulated behavior that is actually a trauma response.

Force Multiplier: ATTCH Niagara strengthens existing emergency structures, creating better outcomes for all.

How We Deploy: A Seamless Pathway

  1. Activation: Triggered by your EMC or lead.
  2. Timeline: Team can be mobilized within 24–48 hours.
  3. Integration: Works seamlessly with existing structures (Ontario Corps, local EOCs).
  4. Sustainability: Fee-for-service or readiness-retainer models available to ensure your community is always “deployment-ready.”

Empowering Your Frontline

We utilize a dual-track strategy to build community resilience:

    • Track 1 (Foundational): Training Police, Fire, and EMS in neurobiology and de-escalation.
    • Track 2 (Specialized): Access to our province-wide Rapid Response Roster of 200+ trained therapists.
