About

ATTCH Niagara

We specialize in treating complex issues such as traumatic loss (death by murder or suicide), childhood abuse, neglect, exposure to violence, sexual assault, domestic violence, home invasions, human trafficking and exploitation. We are located in St. Catharines and provide services to individuals who may not be able to afford therapy.

A Leader in Providing Trauma-Specialized Therapy

Vision:

Improved mental health through equity of access to trauma-specialized therapy.

Mission:

To make state-of-the-art attachment and trauma treatment more accessible to individuals and families who may not have the resources to otherwise access this.

Values:

ATTCH Niagara is an organization whose culture reflects the following five values in each contact, physical setting, relationship and activity in both the experiences of staff as well as those who receive services:

  1. Trauma-Specialized Treatment: We will demonstrate an organizational and administrative commitment to delivering trauma-specific treatment. We anticipate and respond to potential practices that may be perceived or experienced as re-traumatizing. Trauma-responsive and compassionate care is central to our treatment approach.
  2. Equity and Accessibility: We believe that all people have meaning, purpose and value, and should be given the opportunity to heal from past trauma experiences. We believe that trauma-specialized therapy should be accessible regardless of resources and free of bias.
  3. Self-Discovery: Our services focus on treating trauma, building compassionate self-awareness and developing post-traumatic growth for living beyond trauma responses.
  4. Empowerment: We will treat underlying trauma experiences, creating awareness, autonomy and a new understanding of trauma responses, leading to increased growth, resilience and authenticity. We will promote self-compassion and awareness for difficult emotions to be experienced in a safe structured way, resulting in the belief that healing and recovery are possible.
  5. Education: We will create trauma-responsive communities through trauma-informed and trauma-specific training.

Visit Our Facility

“This is the first time I could see a therapist cares. That is an extreme difference in services I have been in with other agencies. The environment is comfortable and involves many different elements that are unlike any other agencies I have seen. Incorporating physical, artistic, and play elements into the environment is both innovative and intuitive. Both the differences in services and the environment are a refreshing change from the dull, stiff, uncaring offices I have seen before.”

The Ecosystem of Healing

Sustainability & Training We are more than a clinic; we are a specialized training centre and a social enterprise dedicated to community wellness.

Pillar 1: The Training Pipeline Our therapists are specialists. By providing 8 months of intensive onboarding to graduate students, we ensure our team is deeply rooted in the ITATM™ protocol and our specialized trauma-processing approach. Most of our professional staff began their careers here, creating a culture of clinical excellence, passion, and consistency. Our graduate students and staff benefit from the rigorous clinical mentorship and oversight made possible by the Branscombe Family Foundation, ensuring our “student-to-expert” pipeline is grounded in the highest clinical standards.

Pillar 2: From Pilot to Permanent We are experts at making every dollar count. We use project-based grants to launch innovative pilots—such as our Neurofeedback and Outreach programs—then work to sustain them through community donations and social enterprise revenue. We don’t let good programs die; if a pilot works, we find a way to make it a permanent part of the Niagara landscape.

Pillar 3: Social Enterprise for Social Good We believe in self-sustainability. We are actively expanding our professional training and consultation services for organizations and professionals globally. Revenue generated from these trainings is reinvested directly back into our clinic to fund free and low-cost trauma-specialized therapy for underserved individuals in the Niagara region. By training the world, we fund healing at home.

A Model of Excellence

The impact of our work has been recognized at the highest levels of the psychotherapy and non-profit sectors. In 2024, ATTCH Niagara was honored with the Excellence in the Not-for-Profit Sector award (GNCC Women in Business), and in 2025, I was humbled to receive the Humanitarian Award from the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).

These recognitions reflect our commitment to the Niagara region and our success in creating a sustainable, innovative model for trauma care that serves as a blueprint for others.
