ATTCH Niagara TCRT Deployed to Support St. Catharines Flood Recovery

Free Niagara Flood Mental Health Support: TCRT Deployed

The City of St. Catharines and the Town of Lincoln have officially deployed our Trauma and Crisis Response Team (TCRT). We are working through Ontario Corps to help our community. Consequently, we are offering free trauma stabilization to those impacted by the recent flooding.

Immediate Support for Flood Victims

The shock of displacement and property loss is overwhelming. Therefore, our TCRT volunteer therapists are providing specialized crisis support. This service is different from our standard ongoing therapy. Specifically, we focus on brief, rapid stabilization and trauma-integration. We treat the shock of what happened to prevent post-traumatic stress and increase your ability to manage your recovery.

How to Access Free Support

Residents can access these sessions virtually or in person. First, please complete our secure online form to request a session:

Why Choose TCRT Stabilization?

During a state of emergency, your nervous system often enters “survival mode.” Our team uses a structured, “bottom-up” approach to help reduce the activation associated with the event. Specifically, we calm your body’s stress response first. As a result, you can think more clearly and make better decisions during this difficult time.

Free Digital Resources

Additionally, you can find immediate tools on our Trauma Healing Academy App. This platform is free for the whole community. It includes resources for adults, families, and first responders.

Additional Resources

In addition to direct sessions, we encourage all residents to access our free digital resources via the Trauma Healing Academy App. This platform contains specialized courses for adults, families, and first responders to help manage extreme stress and promote neurobiological regulation during this crisis.

About the TCRT and Ontario Corps

The ATTCH Niagara Trauma and Crisis Response Team (TCRT) is a specialized unit trained in rapid-response psychological first aid and trauma stabilization. We work alongside municipal and provincial leaders to ensure that the “invisible wounds” of disaster are addressed with the same urgency as physical recovery.

We are honoured to support the Town of Lincoln, the City of St. Catharines and the broader Niagara community during this challenging time.

Ontario Corps is a network of partners and dedicated volunteers ready to respond to local emergencies and deploy critical resources at a moment’s notice.

For inquiries regarding this deployment, please contact: Lori, Project Lead or Mark, Emergency Management Coordinator. We are proud to serve as an Ontario Corps partner. Together, we will help the Niagara Region recover.
