Neurofeedback at ATTCH Niagara

Supporting Self-Regulation, Healing, and Wellness

At ATTCH Niagara, we offer neurofeedback as a gentle, non-invasive tool to help support brain self-regulation and enhance your healing journey. Neurofeedback is available to clients on our waitlist, as a supplement to trauma therapy, and to support continued wellness after treatment.

What Is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback, also known as EEG biofeedback, is a form of brain training that helps your brain learn to function more efficiently. By providing real-time feedback on your brain’s electrical activity, neurofeedback guides your brain toward healthier patterns—helping you feel calmer, more focused, and better able to manage stress and emotions.

How Does Neurofeedback Work?

During a neurofeedback session, sensors are gently placed on your scalp to measure brainwave activity. You simply relax and watch a video or listen to sounds while the equipment monitors your brain’s responses. The system provides feedback to your brain, encouraging it to move toward more balanced and regulated activity.

  • No electrical stimulation is used—nothing goes into your brain.
  • The process is comfortable, safe, and does not require you to “do” anything or talk about your experiences.
  • Sessions are guided by a trained clinician who adjusts protocols to best support your needs.

Who Can Benefit?

Neurofeedback can be helpful for people of all ages and is used to support:

  • Emotional regulation (anxiety, stress, mood)
  • Attention and focus
  • Sleep quality
  • Recovery from trauma, grief, or loss
  • Overall well-being and resilience

Neurofeedback is not a treatment for any specific medical or psychiatric diagnosis, but can be a valuable tool alongside therapy or as a support while waiting for services.

When Is Neurofeedback Offered at ATTCH Niagara?

  • While on the waitlist: Neurofeedback can provide support and symptom relief while you are waiting to begin trauma therapy.
  • Alongside trauma therapy: Used to supplement and enhance the benefits of
    trauma-focused treatment.
  • After therapy: To support ongoing wellness, resilience, and self-regulation.

What to Expect

Sessions are comfortable and do not require you to talk about your trauma or history. No preparation is needed; simply come as you are. Our clinicians will explain each step and answer your questions.

Is Neurofeedback Safe?

Neurofeedback is a non-invasive and well-tolerated approach with a long history of use in mental health and wellness settings. Our clinicians are trained to ensure your safety and comfort throughout the process.
